The newly developed Thorens ”TAS 1600” cartridge is a Japanese-made low output MC that was specially developed for the THORENS TD 1600 and TD 1601. With an output voltage of 0.4 millivolts at 5.5 cm / s, it delivers sufficient levels to harmonize with common phono preamplifiers.
With an internal resistance of 12 ohms, it feels in good hands at a terminating resistor of> 100 ohms. At the end of a massive boron cantilever sits a fine diamond with a line-contact cut, which elicits every musical fineness of the record groove.
